According to Kristen DeAngeles, Director of Education at COA, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to navigate the accreditation process. She says her team understood the importance of accreditation, what it represents in terms of quality educational childcare, and worked hard to make this happen. Their efforts are well worth the effort to ensure that the children in COA’s care get the best head start possible. “Despite the challenges we have faced over the past few years, our commitment to quality educational childcare for our families and to the field of early childhood education remains our primary focus,” said Ms. DeAngeles. “We are proud of this accreditation group and will continue the COA standard of high-quality programming where children, families, and staff work together to build a community of learners.”

“Becoming accredited means we are committed to continuous quality improvement, and we are proud to be among this elite group of providers.”

Accredited programs have met the Council of Accreditation’s standards for high-quality care in early childhood education. These programs have demonstrated that they provide a safe and healthy environment for children, have teachers who are well-trained, have access to excellent teaching materials, and work with a curriculum that is appropriately challenging and developmentally sound. Nearly as important, the Council of Accreditation also evaluates COA’s business practices evaluating them as compared to industry standards and their commitment to consistency.

Nationally accredited programs ensure parents find the best possible early childhood experience for their children. Additionally, accredited programs are often eligible for higher reimbursement rates for subsidy. This allows us to offer more affordable childcare options to working families.

For almost 25 years, COA has been synonymous with the highest standards in early childhood education. Ms. DeAngeles continues, “becoming accredited means we are committed to continuous quality improvement, and we are proud to be among this elite group of providers. We congratulate each one of our schools on their achievement and are confident we will successfully have all COA schools accredited by the end of 2023.”
