Bedard, the first Blackhawks rookie to be named an NHL All-Star, is the third Blackhawk rookie to do so, and the third youngest player in team history to do so. Bedard will be representing them at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game on February 3.
When the event takes place, he will be 18 years and 171 days old. Bedard is set to surpass Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner as the youngest player in the game’s history. According to Yahoo Sports, Skinner broke the previous record in 2011 at the age of 18 years and 259 days.
He leads the Blackhawks in points, goals, and assists, becoming one of five NHL players at 18 or younger to score 10 goals in 17 games. Ahead of Thursday’s game, the 2023 first overall pick had 15 goals and 33 points in 37 games.

Bedard, despite being less than halfway through his first NHL season, has already set numerous records for both the Blackhawks and the league.
Per ESPN Stats and Info, Bedard became the youngest player in league history to score within the first 30 seconds of a game in his ninth career game against the Arizona Coyotes.
Bedard became the youngest NHL player since 1944 to score four points in a single game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 9, per The Athletic’s Mark Lazerus.
According to NHL.com, Bedard became the first Blackhawks player to score nine goals in his first 13 games. Additionally, he is the sixth NHL player to achieve this feat since 1994.
With 73 points in 82 games, Bedard is on track to break the record for the most productive Blackhawks rookie of all time.
What’s Next?
Bedard will participate in a remodeled All-Star skills competition in February.
