Rapper PnB Rock Shot, But Community Leaders Rally for Justice, Rapper PNB Rock was shot to death on Monday afternoon at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles Restaurant in Los Angeles. Police say the shooting occurred at around 1:15 PM after an argument inside the restaurant. He was best known for his hits “Selfish” and “No Brakes.” His death is currently being investigated by the LAPD. No suspects have been named at this time. Rock, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen, was 30 years old.

The community leaders rally around Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, a long-standing business in the community that employs hundreds of people.

Los Angeles City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price and Congressional for the 36th District Candidate Joe Collins attended a Los Angeles city sponsored luncheon at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles on Thursday September 15, 2022. City workers enjoyed chicken, waffles and laughter in an effect to show their support to the restaurant and its employees, which were also victims in this shooting.

In the wake of the recent shooting, the community has come together to support the employees of Roscoes Chicken & Waffles. The Community is united in saying enough is enough. We must save are businesses and senseless violence will not take us over and cause us to live in fear. In times of tragedy, it is often the community that provides the greatest source of comfort. By coming together and offering support, we can help those who are grieving to heal and start to rebuild their lives.

Council Member Harris-Dawson, Council Member Price and Congressional Candidate Joe Collins, LA City workers and the leaders of the Los Angeles community showed their support. Council Member Harris-Dawson stated, “Roscoe’s is a vital part of the Los Angeles community, because people come from all over the world to eat here and enjoy LA life.”

Diane Vera executive for Roscoe’s said, “This was tremendous success. I want to thank everyone in the community for helping us to heal and keeping the spirt of our employees encourage.”

Atlantic Records released a statement, “PnB Rock was more than an artist. To many, Rakim Allen was a great friend. He was also a wonderful father to two beautiful little girls. This news is heavy on our hearts, and we are all hurting over this senseless loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”

Spokesman for Roscoe’s stated, “That this is a barbaric act and the perpetrators are monsters and the company is cooperating fully with police to put a chain on this monster and bring him to justice.” His death is currently being investigated by the LAPD. No suspects have been named at this time. The LAPD has stated that it will turn over every stone to find the killers, but no suspects have been named as of yet.
