This Privacy Policy explains how URBT News, a division of Urban Television Network Corp. (“URBT News”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses and shares personal data when you visit urbtnews.com (the “Site”) or use the URBT News mobile app (the “App”).

2. Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, email address, postal address, and the content of messages you send us (for example newsletter sign-ups, contact forms, comments, or press-release submissions).
- Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time and date of visits, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.
- App data: device identifiers for push notifications (Apple APNS / Google FCM), crash and diagnostic logs (Firebase Crashlytics), and usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase). The App may request camera access to scan QR codes (no image data is sent over the network) and location access to display maps.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to show ads on the Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info and www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

5. Cookies and your consent choices
We and our third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies on the Site. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help recognize your browser, remember your preferences, measure how content is used, and serve and measure ads.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, analytics, and advertising. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message, provided by Google (a certified Consent Management Platform under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework), before non-essential cookies are used. You can accept, refuse, or choose specific purposes and partners.

6. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (and Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA and Switzerland), and Google Analytics for Firebase in the App, to understand how visitors use our content so we can improve the Site and App.
What it collects: Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and similar identifiers to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you arrived at the Site (for example search or social media), your browser and device type, screen size, language, and approximate location (city or country) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We do not send Google Analytics your name, email address, or other information that directly identifies you.
How it is used: Google processes this data on our behalf to produce aggregated reports about Site traffic and engagement. Google may also use this data as described in its policy on how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Consent: For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs in Google Consent Mode. Analytics cookies are only set if you consent through our cookie message. If you decline, no analytics cookies are stored on your device, and Google may receive only limited, cookieless signals that do not identify you.
Retention and transfers: Google Analytics data linked to cookies or identifiers is retained for up to 14 months and then automatically deleted. Aggregated reports that do not identify individual visitors may be kept longer, and data may be processed by Google in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your choices: You can withdraw consent at any time through the “Privacy and cookie settings” link, delete cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. More information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy.
7. Who we share data with
- Advertising and measurement partners (including Google and the ad partners listed in our consent tool)
- Service providers that host, maintain, secure, or analyze our Site and App (for example hosting, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting)
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights
- A successor organization in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
We do not sell your personal information for money.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or a provider’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.
9. How long we keep data
We keep the personal data we collect directly (such as contact form messages and submissions) for 90 days, after which it is deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law or you ask us to keep it (for example, while you remain subscribed to a newsletter). Analytics data collected through Google Analytics is retained for up to 14 months, as described in the Google Analytics section above. Cookies and data held by third-party vendors such as Google are governed by those vendors’ own retention periods, which are shown in the consent tool and in their privacy policies.
10. Your rights (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
You have the right to: access your personal data; correct it; have it erased; restrict or object to processing (including objecting to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing); data portability; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@urbtnews.com. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. A list of EU authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu; in the UK, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
11. California residents
California residents may request to know, delete, or correct personal information we hold, and may opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email privacy@urbtnews.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Children’s privacy
The Site and App are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Links to other sites
The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
