Leadership Story Lab celebrates the newest cohort of Certified Story Facilitators, a program designed to transform leaders through storytelling facilitation.

CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, September 11, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ — Leadership Story Lab celebrates the graduation of its newest cohort of Certified Story Facilitators (CSF). This unique program aims to transform leaders through storytelling facilitation, equipping CSF graduates with essential facilitation skills and storytelling curricula.

Unlike most storytelling courses, CSF does not only focus on making leaders the “Sage on Stage,” who excel at telling timely stories to motivate their audiences. It also emphasizes the role of “Guide on the Side,” helping leaders learn to listen effectively and assist their teams in improving their storytelling abilities.

The Power of Story Facilitation

Effective leadership requires more than just industry expertise. “It requires persuasion,” argues Esther Choy, founder of Leadership Story Lab and creator of CSF. “And persuasion requires trust. The skill of story facilitation allows you to be more persuasive because you gain a deeper understanding of the people you are leading. Storytelling builds empathy and connection.”

Transformative Experience in Storytelling

Now in its fourth year, the CSF program offers a transformative six-week experience. This program goes beyond theory and requires participants to immerse themselves in their narratives and those of their peers. Participants engage in storytelling exercises and facilitate similar activities with fellow participants. Each session includes workshop-style feedback along with personalized feedback, allowing participants to learn through experience.

A Diverse Community of Leaders

This unique course attracts leaders from various industries. “We’ve had independent leadership coaches, sales and communications executives, wealth and philanthropy professionals, and professors from universities,” said Reena Kansal, COO of Leadership Story Lab and Level 3 Certified Story Facilitator. “The common thread among participants is their interest in connecting and valuing storytelling. The community fosters collaboration and support, meeting monthly to inspire and develop skills.”

A Three-Tiered Certification Model

CSF operates with three levels, each built on the previous one. Level 3 skills are especially relevant during this time of political and social turmoil.

This year, five exceptional leaders joined the global community of Certified Story Facilitators. We also partnered with USAA, a financial services company dedicated to military members, to create a dedicated cohort for USAA employees in San Antonio, TX. This initiative aims to improve storytelling and coaching capabilities while providing a structured communication approach.
